Description

Some of the biggest national news stories in recent months have been allegations of Russian influence in the 2016 election, the administration and congressional response to the investigations, and President Trump’s fight with the FBI.

Boise City Club has a chance to hear from a New York Times reporter at the center of that reporting. Adam Goldman, who won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize, will speak to the City Club and answer audience questions March 28.

In addition to covering the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump administration and Russia, Goldman broke the story about the arrest of a former C.I.A. officer suspected by investigators of helping China identify informants, one of the American government’s worst intelligence failures in recent years.

Prior to joining the Times, Goldman worked at The Washington Post, reporting on terrorism and other related topics. He was on The Associated Press investigative team in Washington, D.C., and got his start in journalism at newspapers in Virginia and Alabama.

In addition to the Pulitzer, Goldman has received the Harvard Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting and a George Polk Award. In 2014, the Center for Journalism Ethics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison named Goldman a recipient of the Anthony Shadid Award for Journalism Ethics for his reporting on a former CIA contractor who was abducted in Iran.
He is the co-author of “Enemies Within: Inside the NYPD’s Secret Spying Unit and bin Laden’s Final Plot Against America.” He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and two children.
