Description

Government Subsidies for Private Companies: Good or bad for our Economy?

The CHIPS Act was passed by Congress in the summer of 2022 with a large bi-partisan majority. The Act is intended to shore up the US semiconductor industry with support of federal dollars. But are the long term effects likely to be good for our Economy, including our local Economy? Or does Government support damage our capitalist system?

Join City Club for an Evening Conversation with Dr. Peter Crabb and Dr. Rafael Ribas as they discuss the pros and cons of government programs like the CHIPS and Science Act.

Join us at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute classroom on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Speakers:
